As an Sales Development Representative, you will cover the higher education market within Asia-Pacific. The role will be based out of our Melbourne office and will be responsible for all sales development and prospecting tasks such as cold calling as well as engagement-focused activities including developing content and organising events. We are looking for experienced, successful candidates with a proven track-record generating new sales opportunities and engaging the higher education sector.  

What you will do as our new Sales Development Representative:
Sales Development:

  • Conduct extensive research to identify prospects
  • Generate new business opportunities from inbound and outbound leads
  • Use a mixture of outreach methods including cold calls, emails and social media
  • Manage and track leads in our CRM (Salesforce)
  • Understand our offerings and effectively communicate them to prospects
  • Work closely with other members of the sales team to qualify opportunities
  • Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly quotas and objectives


  • Develop region-specific content 
  •  Organise and execute marketing events
  • Coordinate and attend external conferences and events
  • Nurture leads
  • Stay up to date with changes and challenges in the higher education sector
  • Embed Explorance within the regional higher education market


  • General administration to support sales in the region

What you need to succeed in that role:

  •  1+ years business/sales development experience ideally in the higher education sector
  • Proven track record of generating new business opportunities and achieving targets
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed individual quarterly and annual quotas
  • Ability to position technical concepts and business solutions clearly 
  • Responsiveness and thorough follow-up with customers and prospects
  • Strong phone presence, comfortable with high-volume, outbound cold calling 
  • Experience working with/selling enterprise software and SaaS
  • Hunter mentality, proactive and self-motivated
  •  Genuine interest in a high-tech sales career
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • BA/BSc Degree or Equivalent 
  • Willingness to travel for events within region
  • Experience working in the higher education sector
  • Experience working in a dynamic and challenging, growing start-up environment 
  • Solid understanding of web, enterprise and SaaS technologies
